One of the things we pride ourselves on is that we use the apparel and equipment we sell when we get the opportunity to Gear Up Head Out. So when we have something positive to say about an item, you can be assured the feedback is coming from our actual use of the item and how it will fit your needs, not just us selling equipment and apparel as a retail store. If you are not sure what to get the outdoor enthusiast on your list, here are some Staff Gift Ideas.

Innova Disc Golf Starter Set – $28.99
I have played Disc Golf for half my life and cannot say enough good things about the sport, and what’s not to like? It is a social activity that can also be done by yourself when you get some unexpected free time. There are many courses near each of our stores, so there is opportunity. And as an added bonus you get to be outside, which has many benefits beyond just physical. I highly encourage you to give it a try. We have Intro events in the summer so you can learn the ins and outs of the sport with us.
As we have developed our Disc Golf programming and started stocking inventory for sales and rentals to introduce people to the sport, I have come to appreciate the discs made by Innova. The Innova Disc Golf Starter Set is designed with beginners in mind. This set comes with three classic golf discs that are dependable, inexpensive and easy to throw. This smaller set makes it easier to play as you learn the sport, and helps you develop your own style.
We are lucky to have many courses in the area and we have sales and rentals to help you enjoy them. If you ever have any questions on Disc Golf please give us a call and we would be happy to assist you. As you progress in the sport, additional Discs or a custom set may be in order. Please stop by our Aurora location and one of our disc golf specialists can help you hand pick discs designed specifically for your throwing style or for a particular course design.

Ion PFD by NRS $109.95
Over the years of paddling and selling life jackets, we’ve come to realize that the best life jacket is the one you’ll actually wear, and a life jacket you’ll wear is one that feels great all day long. We introduce THE most comfortable paddle jacket around, the Ion from NRS. The Ion’s six-panel design uses ultra soft foam for a flexible fit that wraps effortlessly around your torso and flows with your movements. It has their Cool Flow Panel system to vent air for those warm days out on the water. On the days it is not so warm, the ION has fleece hand warmers under the dual zipper pocket for a quick warming of your hands. Other features on the Ion PFD are padded shoulder straps and a lashing for a knife or VHF radio.
This is a very versatile PFD that can used for any application, from Whitewater Kayaking to Stand Up Paddleboarding. You will not find a more comfortable PFD then the Ion jacket. But don’t just take our word for it. Come out to either of our locations and try one on for yourself and see how the Ion PFD from NRS fits your paddling needs.

Mountain Khaki Saloon Flannel $80
I absolutely LOVE my Mountain khaki saloon flannel shirt (I have every color). Not only does it keep you warm, but it looks good too. You can do anything in this shirt, go to bars, go to a fine-dine restaurant, go hiking, all while looking good and being comfortable. Also, it doesn’t keep you too warm, so being indoors is not a problem while wearing the flannel. Did I mention being comfortable??? You could sleep on a concrete floor and still be comfortable. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this shirt; you won’t be disappointed…I promise.
Outdoor Research Verismo or Sonata Hooded Down Jacket $225
This Jacket is the Bees Knees!!! Outdoor Research has been around since 1981, and they truly make the best gear possible. They were founded on the notion that “Life is an adventure, the best gear makes it possible”. Also, they have a “infinite” guarantee, which means they are warrantied FOR AN INFINITE amount of time…you CANNOT beat OR’s warranty. Now, back to the jacket. The Verismo is the men’s version, Sonata women. It definitely keeps you WARM!! This jacket is made with 650 fill down, enough to keep you warm, and still be a very lightweight jacket. Water and wind resistant, with an adjustable hood, two internal pockets, zip chest pockets, zip hand pockets, and Elastic cuffs. You will not be disappointed with this jacket.

Simms Guide Pants $79.95 $39.97 Simms Cold Water Pants $99.95 $49.97
Second year in a row this has been my gift pick. And it’s not because we are trying to move them! Rather it shows how much I love them. I live in Simms pants during all seasons. The lightweight Guide Pants are perfect for those days when you need a little more than shorts but don’t want the hassle of wearing pants. Pockets and zippers galore for carrying small items on the water or trail, these pants wick moisture, block the sun, and neutralize odors. When it gets a little colder, I switch to the Cold Water Pants. You know that feeling when the cold fabric of your pants brushes against your leg in the winter, aka “Cold Pants Syndrome”? I hate that. Can’t imagine anyone that likes it. Good thing is that is no longer a problem! These pants have the same quick dry, odor-neutralizing features of the Guide Pants with the added bonus of micro fleece lined internals and hand warmer pockets to make these your go-to pants for the winter.
While initially designed with anglers in mind, these pants are great for any outdoor activity. I use my cold weather pants for ice skating or hiking. These items are on sale and available at both locations while supplies last. At these prices, don’t delay.
